Cargo from Dubai to Oman

Our Dubai head office and our Muscat company work as one team, so the paperwork on both sides matches your cargo.

Dubai to Oman, handled on both sides

Cargo leaving Dubai for Oman is declared twice: once to Dubai Customs and once to Omani customs on arrival. Bright White Star Shipping LLC is headquartered in Dubai, with a sister company, Bright White Star International LLC, in Muscat, so the export paperwork in Dubai and the import clearance in Oman are prepared together.

How the cargo can move

Sea freight

FCL and LCL sea freight, including shipments through Jebel Ali.

Air freight

Air freight for urgent or high-value cargo.

Road

Cross-border GCC trucking and container haulage to and from ports.

Warehousing

Short and long-term storage, including free-zone warehousing, before the cargo moves.

The right mode depends on the cargo, the deadline and the budget. Tell us what you are moving and we will recommend one.

Customs on the Dubai side

In Dubai, customs declarations are lodged electronically with Dubai Customs through the Dubai Trade platform. We prepare and coordinate every export declaration, whether the goods ship from a free zone or from the mainland. For re-exports and free-zone transfers, see our UAE compliance page.

Customs on the Oman side

Oman uses Bayan, the electronic declaration system of the Royal Oman Police – Directorate General of Customs. Our Muscat company, a licensed clearing agency, lodges the import declaration, classifies the goods, works out the duty and checks any permit before the cargo arrives. See customs clearing in Oman.

Documents for a Dubai to Oman shipment

  • Commercial invoice with a clear description, quantity and value of every item.
  • Packing list that matches the invoice line by line.
  • Bill of lading (sea), air waybill (air) or the road transport document.
  • Certificate of origin, where your goods or route require one.
  • Permits for controlled goods.
  • Registration details of the exporter and importer, and contact details for the consignee.

Send them before the cargo is booked and we will tell you what is missing while there is still time to fix it.
